Both environments have social and historical dimensions that influence creative work with sound that differ substantially from those related to a more classical musical or technical education and which currently affect a vast number of independent sound creators.

Francisco López is internationally recognised as one of the key figures in experimental music. His experience in the area of sound creation and in work with environmental recordings spans a 25-year period, during which time he has developed an entirely personal iconoclastic sound universe. He has performed hundreds of concerts, projects with field recordings and sound installations in 50 countries across the globe. His extensive catalogue of sound pieces (working live and studio collaborations with over 100 international artists) has been released by over 150 record labels.
