Maggie Schmitt

She is an independent translator and researcher living in Madrid. She has strong ties in Beirut and the US. She participates in a range of social initiatives, including the militant research project Precarias a la Deriva and an informal network of young feminists from (and related to) the Middle East. Over recent years her work has centred on debates on secularism. She is currently touring the US investigating some emerging forms of social organisation in that country.
