Amador Fernández Savater

Madrid. Essayist, researcher and editor, he published Filosofía y acción (Editorial Límite, Santander) in 1999. He co-runs the magazine Archipiélago and the publishing company Acuarela where he explores the possible leanings of a critically incorrect discourse. He regularly collaborates in the cultural supplement of the newspaper El País, the newspaper Diagonal and the journal El Viejo Topo. He takes part in social movements in Madrid. He has written the preface for the book by Castoriadis, La exigencia revolucionaria, (Acualera, Madrid, 2000) that includes texts on political philosophy written during the 1970s. He takes part in that rather vague political space formed by social movements in Madrid. His general concerns consist of thinking, on the basis of collective practices and specific experiences, about a series of basic political problems whose common sphere is what it means today to be faithful to a project based on individual and collective autonomy.
