 truction of personality.\nWhile the personality and the idea of the su
 bject during the Renaissance was linked to colour (the influence of th
 e four bodily fluids and their different colours\: red\, yellow\, whit
 e and green) and\, consequently\, was conceived as something stable an
 d inherent to the nature of each individual\, from the 18th century on
 wards\, scientists began to speak of the existence of a subconscious a
 nd therefore a part of our identity whose workings we were unaware of.
