DESCRIPTION:This seminar provides an introduction to the polyhedric in
 tellectual legacy of Cornélius Castoriadis (Constantinople 1922 - Par
 is\, 1997)\, philosopher\, economist\, and psychoanalyst\; and it will
  also offer a critical approach to his social and political praxis. Ca
 storiadis’s orignal and lucid contribution is an invitation to think
  and question philosophy and the imaginary significations that have be
 en handed down in all domains of human activity. As a key element in h
 is theoretical construct we find the idea of human creation linked to 
 the power of the radical imagination and the importance of social-hist
 orical aspects\, which are understood to be a form of ontology that ca
 n question itself\, and through this self-reflective activity\, be exp
 licitly altered. In this way\, he proposes a general science of the hu
 man being that integrates an anthropological\, philosophical\, politic
 al and psychoanalytical dimension.
